Snow White Movie and Cinderella Fruit Snacks

For some reason, my daughter has become really into Disney princesses.

Her two favorite requests:

Cinderella Fruit Snacks. Blame this one on me. We were at HyVee and I let her pick the fruit snacks. She picked the box with Cinderella. Of course. Now we ask (or beg) for "Sera-sera fruit snacks" all the time. Our designated time for Cinderella fruit snacks has become post-nap. She now wakes up and the first thing she does is ask for Cinderella fruit snacks. Then, she slowly savors each bite. Asking, "Who's this?" at each fruit snack. Each one is a different piece of princess paraphernalia -- glass slipper, tiara, Cinderella, Ariel, etc.

Snow White Movie. This is the only thing that Madeline routinely requests to watch on tv. If it were up to her, we'd be watching Snow White all day, everyday. I've noticed a few things about the movie.

1. Snow White has a ridiculously high and irritating voice.

2. The appropriateness of the Dwarfs is questionable. Grumpy's a bit chauvinistic. Doc has an undiagnosed stuttering problem. Happy is morbidly obese. And we call the one who doesn't talk and appears to have a slight mental disability "Dopey".

3. The queen is kind of scary. So is the mirror.

4. Madeline's ability to remember things is amazing. For example, when Dopey leaves the mine with the key she says, "Hang the key up, Dopey!" And then Dopey goes back and hangs the key up. Amazing.

5. Listening to Madeline sing Whistle While You Work and then try to whistle is adorable.

  1. Can you record Madeline's singing and whistling routine? Gma

  2. Ha! I was watching Snow White with my three-year-old niece a couple weeks ago and thought the same things. Izzie is so obsessed with princess stories that she even had a Fairy Godmother birthday party recently.
