Happy 4th!

The Fourth is one of my favorite family holidays.  Especially July 4th in Urbandale.  Seriously, no one does it like The Dale.

Sitting on the same street corner with the same neighbors.  Chatting with old neighbors.  Catching up and joking around.  I usually see them once a year -- at the Fourth.

Granny's an expert at parades.  Just teaching the next generation how it's done.

Watching the parade that I participated in most years growing up -- marching band, cheerleading, Jaywalk-ing (Only a UHS grad knows what a real Jaywalker is. It's cool. Trust me.)

Grilling out at my parents.  Watching the cousins play.  Shooting hoops at our neighbors' house.

Shopping for a new refrigerator. Rushing to save my supply of 200+ ounces of frozen breast milk. Cleaning out my freezer....oh, wait.  That's not a July 4th tradition.  More on that later. :)

Watching the parade from the shade.  And later she decided to take a nap in her bouncy seat, despite all the noise.

Happy 4th (a wee bit late), y'all.  Hope you had a chance to relax with family and friends, a chance to celebrate our free country, and a chance to tear up when the WWII veterans proudly wave from their parade float.
