Things we learned at the doctor today..

It was a day of appointments for Audrey and I.  Madeline got to spend the day at Adventureland with Granny, Aunt Melissa, Sam and Nick.  She may have gotten the better end of this deal. :)

Audrey went with me to my annual exam.  Unbeknownst to me, Dr. T can do the entire exam with a tired, cranky baby sitting on my stomach.  How's that for multi-tasking?

In the 45 minutes between appointments, Audrey had a ginormo blow-out diaper.   You know, the kind where there's more poo on her clothes, up her back, and on her activity mat than in the actual diaper.

Good news at the appointment: Audrey weighs 13lbs 12oz!!!!  Wowsa!  For starting out so small in life, she's making huge progress!  At birth and 2 months, she was around 20th percentile for weight.  This month she's at 55th percentile.  How's THAT for a growth spurt?!?!

As far as our difficulties with naptime go (such as Audrey's refusal to take a nap in her crib), the doctor suggests that we let her cry it out for 10 minutes at a time.  Basically, Audrey's just playin' us.  She goes to sleep perfectly fine in her crib at night.  I lay her down, eyes open, and she puts herself to sleep in about five minutes without making a peep.  Apparently at naptime, she's just more vocal.  And it's time that I just (wo)man up and let her cry through it a bit.

And, yes, the 4 month immunizations where sad.  Bummer.  But she is actually sleeping in her crib right now.  She, very sadly, whimpered herself to sleep. :(

Thank goodness for Tylenol.
