{non} adventures in potty training

Since Audrey's second birthday is right around the corner, I thought I'd start planting the seeds of potty training.

She's really interested in the toilet.  If she sneaks out of the room, she's usually gone off to the bathroom to flush the toilet a few times.

When asked if she wants to use the potty her answer is always "no potty" combined with puppy dog eyes and concerned eyebrows.

Hi, my name's Audrey and wearing a diaper is just easier.

She's consistent about it, too.  Ask her a series of questions -- "Do you like guacamole? Is your name Audrey? Is Minnie your favorite?"  She'll answer yes to all of them.  Throw in a question about the potty and you get the concerned "no potty" answer.

She received some new Minnie Mouse undies at Christmas time.  She thinks they're adorable.  Ask if she wants to wear them?  "No potty."

Oh well.  I really didn't have my hopes up.  Madeline potty trained at about two and a half.  We've got time.  :)

And just to show off a bit, here's M wearing the bathrobe that I made her for Christmas.  It was a fun challenge -- my first time using a real pattern to sew an article of clothing.  It went well.  And she'll never know that the collar is a bit off or that the sleeves are slightly misaligned.  :)

  2. Uh, that robe is amazing! You go!

I can relate with the potty training...Sophia also is quite emphatic about "no potty". Princess underwear? Yes. Potty? No. Lily was almost three before she was potty trained so I'm not in a hurry.
