We had quite a bit of fun celebrating your birthday and Easter on the same day. Church, Easter lunch, naps, an egg hunt, dinner, presents, cake. Whew! It was an exciting day.
Some things about you at the big age of four...
You talk. A lot. You always have something to say. I love it. If Mom and Dad say too much at supper we hear: "Excuse me. I'd like to talk now..."
| Still working on the whole "sitting like a lady" business. |
You love to play school and be Mrs. Dowell. Occasionally I get to play and be Other Mrs. Dowell. You're frequently teaching your pretend students everything you've learned in preschool. Or attempting to teach your sister who at times is an unwilling participant. "Oh, Audrey. No, no. There's no talking right now."
You were really excited to chew gum on your birthday, but then thought the gum was "too spicy". Later that night your prayer request was that God would help you like gum soon.
You like to ride your bike, tricycle and new plasma car up and down the street. You're pretty sure that you are one of the older girls.
| Literally the last picture of the day. Audrey finally decides it would be okay to smile. |
You're very helpful around the house. Mom rarely gets to cook, sweep the floor, do laundry or pick up toys without you pitching in. Sometimes you think "sweeping" means redistributing the pile of crumbs that Mom made back around the kitchen.
It takes awhile to get you in bed at night. The process is quite long -- reading books, talking about your day with Dad and saying our prayers. Then a chorus of "Good night. Sleep tight. I love you. See you in the morning. Good night. Sleep tight. I love you. See you in the morning..."
You are quick to answer the phone and strike up a conversation, especially if there's a grandparent on the other end.
Love you lots, Boo. Happy birthday.
