Madeline wanted a rainbow party for her birthday, so a variety of rainbows she received.
For our family dinner she wanted pb&j. I got fancy and used cookie cutters to make them look cute. Madeline requested hearts, stars and flowers. And we grilled out for the adults. We had a layered rainbow cake {thank you, Pinterest, for making me look good} and a rainbow fruit tray.
The weather was great so the cousins got to run around outside. We are so blessed to have our entire family nearby and able to celebrate birthdays with us!
Since our house is in a bit of disarray with the basement finishing project, we had our first ever out-of-the-house friend party at the local jumping place. It was perfect. We opted for the cheaper weeknight party {purchased with a coupon, of course!} and since the weather happened to be gorgeous that day we were literally the only people in the entire place all night.
The kids jumped and ran and climbed and slid all over the place. Then we had some pizza, a gift exchange and cupcakes.
We copied the gift exchange from another friend and it turned out great. Instead of a gift for Madeline each kiddo brought a gift to exchange. Easy and everyone goes home with something fun.

Madeline, the super-sweet big sister, even shared her birthday throne with Audrey.
A fun and easy party.
Her actual birthDAY was a bit of a bummer. We awoke to A-bear puking in her bed. And spent the morning in our pjs snuggling a puking sister. But we did get to watch one of Madeline's favorite movies, The Lorax.
Audrey was feeling better by noon and took a looong nap. So Madeline and I had some birthday fun. We made lip gloss using her new lip gloss kit from Grandma and crafted with some new stamps and glitter glue.
For dinner we had to order in from M's favorite restaurant {instead of going to an already germ-infested playplace} at McDonald's. Of course. Good news about ordering in was that Darrin and I got Panchero's instead. And still semi-sick Audrey ate graham crackers.
Happy, happy birthday to my Madeline. My smart, funny and kind little lady. I am so glad that I get to be your mom.
Love you so much, Boo!

Birthday parties are so much fun!!! :-)
